This series of articles will grow over the coming months, as our intrepid members visit some of the more well-known pubs in Birmingham and find out more about their landlords. We start with Agnes Creaton, who has run the White Swan in Digbeth since 1969, probably the longest-serving licencee in Birmingham. The second article features Tony Lewis of the Black Eagle in Hockley. The pub has won Birmingham CAMRA pub of the year four times since Tony took over. We also have features on Rose McCann at the Bull, Price Street, Nigel Barker at the Wellington and Sarah Thornton at the Craven Arms. Look out for more articles soon. |
