Guide to Pubs on the Midland Metro

A leaflet about the real ale pubs along the route of Line One of Midland Metro Light Rail has been produced with the cooperation of local CAMRA branches. Here's a list of those pubs with brief notes. Consulting the Good Beer Guide may also help.

The information was gathered a couple of years ago, so we may do an update sometime in the future, as there are bound to be several changes that need to be made.

    The Trumpet, 58 High Street - A famous Holdens pub with live jazz, good range of Holdens beers (May not open until 8pm on Saturday evenings.)

    The Olde White Rose, 20 Lichfield Street - A listed building. A free house with about eight beers available.

    Black Eagle, 16 Factory Road - Friendly pub with restaurant, beers include Ansells, Tetley and occasional guest beers.
  21. Jewellery Quarter
    Red Lion, 94/95 Warstone Lane - Cosy back street pub, beers from Banks's

    Church Inn, 22 Great Hampton Street - Roadside pub famous for food. Beers include Ansells - the only Birmingham pub selling Bathams Bitter on a permanent basis.

    The Rope Walk, St. Pauls Square - Traditional style Banks's pub
  23. BIRMINGHAM (SNOW HILL)
    Old Joint Stock, 4 Temple Row - Pub converted from former bank, very spacious, beers from Fullers of London.

    Old Contemptibles, 176 Edmund Street - Large grade II listed pub, beers from Bass, Highgate and guest beers.
