National Beer Scoring
CAMRA's National Beer Scoring Scheme (NBSS) allows members to rate the quality of beer available in pubs and assists us in selecting pubs for the bestselling Good Beer Guide. In Birmingham branch we have taken the NBSS onboard and many of our members are keenly collecting scores on a regular basis.
It is not a chore to complete the form, as it soon becomes second nature when buying a pint. |

Scoring Online
Members can now fill the details in online at www.beerscoring.org.uk - making the process quicker and easier than ever before.
CAMRA members are asked to examine the look, smell, and taste of each beer before offering their evaluation. The scores are on a six point scale (0-5):
0 = Undrinkable: No cask ale or the quality is so poor you can't finish it.
1 = Poor: Barely drinkable
2 = Average: Competently kept but uninspiring.
3 = Good: Good beer in good form. Worth another pint.
4 = Very Good: Excellent beer in excellent condition, another pint is a must.
5 = Perfect: Very rarely given by the seasoned drinker. Probably the best beer you are likely to find.
Scoring Offline
If you would prefer to score your beers using the old paper cards you can download the printable sheets (PDF 57.7 kb).
You can fill these in at your leisure and when complete you can simply hand them in to our Beer Scoring Officer (Brian Wood) at the branch meetings or alternatively hand them in at The Wellington, Bennetts Hill who will submit them on your behalf.
